euroasfaltMinister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro Osman Nurkovic and representatives of the company Euro-Asfalt Ltd. from Sarajevo, signed a contract on construction works on the tunnel construction and reconstruction of the road Lubnice – Jezerine.

“I am pleased that we approached the realization of this major project, which has great value not only for the Municipality of Berane, but for all surrounding municipalities as well, at the beginning of my mandate. The trip from Berane to Kolasin will be shortened for over 40 kilometers. We expect that this road impacts on better connectivity and availability of Bjelasica and Komovo, which will be especially effective when it comes to tourism in the region, primarily the ski center Bjelasica “, said Minister Nurkovic.

The job is reflected in the reconstruction of the section Lubnice-Jezerine, a distance of 14.4 kilometers of the planned construction of a new tunnel with a length of 2.8 km. The value of works is approximately 34.7 million (34,694,804.35 EUR), excluding VAT, and the funds were allocated from the EBRD loan. The deadline is 3 years from the introduction of contractor to work.

On this section will be required a breakthrough of almost three kilometers long tunnel on Vranjak, below the pass that is located at 1,900 meters above the sea level, and the plan is to build about 150 meters long bridge, as noted in the statement of the Government of Montenegro.
