Members of the British Grenadier Guards Unit and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will train jointly at Manjača from November 2-20, the Embassy of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina reports. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the two armies have trained together in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The training is held at the Combat Training Center and the Manjača training range. It is part of a long-standing combat cooperation between the United Kingdom and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As the Embassy stated, the soldiers will practice field skills, reconnaissance, patrolling, movement techniques, and command and control. Part of the activities is dedicated to further development of the AFBiH Light Infantry Battle Group.
British Ambassador Dawn McKen said the training is another important example of a powerful, practical partnership between the two countries.
“Through joint training, our armed forces learn from each other, improve professional skills, and build relations that contribute to the security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The United Kingdom remains a devoted partner to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to safe and resilient Bosnia and Herzegovina,” McKen said.
The Embassy emphasized that the annual training contributes to the development of skills and professionalism of the AFBiH and is part of a wider British support for the defense reforms and capacity building of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a NATO partner, Klix.ba writes.
