In 2025, Tuzla International Airport recorded a 63.5 percent increase in passenger numbers, while the number of flights rose by 35.5 percent. The year concluded with a positive financial result, with subsidies and cooperation with airlines playing a significant role in the recovery of air traffic.

During 2025, Tuzla International Airport handled 338,481 passengers – an increase of 63.5 percent compared to the previous year – according to data from the public enterprise’s operational report, which has been approved by the Government of Tuzla Canton.

The report indicates that 2,139 flights were carried out during the same period, representing a 35.5 percent increase over 2024. Passenger numbers also exceeded the targets set in the revised business plan by nearly four percent.

These results point to a recovery in air traffic at Tuzla Airport, which the Tuzla Canton Government attributes to flight subsidy programs and continued collaboration with airlines such as Wizz Air, Pegasus, and AJet.

Furthermore, the agreement to re-establish a Wizz Air base at Tuzla International Airport holds significant importance for future operations, creating the conditions for expanding the network of destinations and driving further growth in passenger numbers.

“Throughout the past year, activities aimed at improving airport infrastructure continued. Work on the third departure gate was completed, and a new parking area was put into operation.

Projects involving approach lighting and the installation of centerline lighting for the runway were also implemented. These upgrades have enhanced safety conditions and the capability to conduct air traffic operations during periods of reduced visibility,” the statement noted.

A significant achievement in 2025 was the successful completion of the certification process for Tuzla Airport in accordance with European EASA standards.

Regarding financial performance, Tuzla International Airport recorded total revenues of 7.91 million BAM in 2025, resulting in a positive financial outcome.

An independent auditor issued a positive opinion on the company’s financial statements, according to information provided by the Government of Tuzla Canton.

These results provide a foundation for the continuation of the airport’s development cycle. Key priorities include further increasing air traffic volume, modernizing infrastructure, and strengthening the airport’s role in the economic and tourism development of Tuzla Canton.

The 2025 business report was accepted by the Government of Tuzla Canton, which, through support programs and other development initiatives, contributes to creating the conditions necessary for advancing air traffic in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”, Klix.ba writes.
