The Brčko District Police and EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina called on the media on Sunday to show extra sensitivity towards the families of the victims of the helicopter crash and to remove videos and photos of the accident that show members of EUFOR, as well as civilians who happened to be at the scene.

“Publishing and sharing such content can further hurt the families of the victims, violate the dignity of the victims and expose to additional trauma all those who are directly or indirectly affected by this tragedy,” the press release says.

Along with the call for responsible behavior, the press release also reminds us of the legal consequences of further publication of such content.

“We ask you to appreciate the pain and suffering of the families of the victims, who in these difficult moments need peace, dignity and space to face an irreparable loss,” it is added.
