The annual financial report for 2023 was not submitted by 49 political parties, which is 26.2 percent of the total number, announced the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Law on the Financing of Political Parties stipulates that political parties are required to keep records of their income and expenses, and to submit a financial report to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina for each calendar year (accounting year). The financial report is submitted by March 31 of the following year.

In connection with the aforementioned, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent an act to all political parties, warning them of the legal obligation to submit the annual financial report for 2023 on March 31, 2024.

The annual financial report for 2023 was submitted by 138 political parties, which is 73.80 percent of the total of 187 political parties from the records of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“To political parties that have not submitted their annual financial report for 2023, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will send an urgent request to submit them, which, in accordance with the provisions of Article 14, paragraph (3) of the Law on Financing of Political Parties, gives them the opportunity to submit fines or taking administrative measures, act voluntarily and submit financial reports”, stated the CEC.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will publish the annual financial reports of political parties for the year 2023, with data on funding sources, on its website.
