Candles and flowers were placed in the center of the capital Sarajevo to honor the murdered Sarajevo police officers Adis Sehovic and Davor Vujinovic.

More than 500 citizens gathered on Monday evening to commemorate police officers who gave their lives on 26th of October in the Sarajevo settlement Alipasino Polje, protecting all citizens.

Police officers, students, friends, parents with children, all gathered to support of the Sarajevo Canton police. Among them were the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milan Dunovic and the Mayor of Centar Municipality Nedzad Ajnadzic.

“Give the police greater authority to protect both citizens and themselves”, was the most important message that citizens were sending to authorities.

At around 4:00 a.m. (0200 GMT) on Friday in Sarajevo, two policemen noticed thieves while they were stealing a car, and before policemen came out of the car, perpetrators opened a fire and escaped. One police officer was killed and another passed away in the hospital due to a severe head injury.

On the day of mourning, the flags in front of public institutions were put at a half mast and cultural and sporting events were adjusted to the day of mourning.

Members of MUP KS interrogated 49 persons that can be connected with perpetrators, and conducted a raid of 12 places, but no one is arrested still.
