5K International Friendship Race held in Gorazde

Uroš Gutić from Nevesinje is the winner of the third Goražde 5 K International Friendship Race, which was held tonight. Second place went to Emir Hastor from Goražde, while Aldin Rizvić from Banović won third place.

The champion in the women’s competition is Alma Hrnjić from Sarajevo, the second place was won by Edina Harbinja from Sarajevo, while the third place is Branka Cvijetić from Goražde.

The third International Friendship Race Goražde 5K gathered more than 500 participants of different ages, and 300 competitors from ten countries took part in the main race.

Children’s races in which more than 250 boys and girls from ten cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated, who competed in seven categories, gave the event a special charm. Races were organized from the ciciban at 50 meters to other categories where the longest was 300 meters. In addition to the most successful, all participants received participation medals, and sweet gifts were provided for all children.

Medals and cups were also awarded to the most successful men and women from Goražda in the 5 K race, and in the women’s competition it was Adna Đogo, while in the men’s the fastest was Ajdin Kanlić.

At the Goražde Athletic Club, they are proud of the organization of this unique manifestation that promotes the queen of sports, healthy lifestyles, and friendship between people.

“I greet all the competitors and our dear guests and friends from various regions who gave one hundred and fifty percent of their abilities to make this race run in the best possible way, which we are particularly pleased with. We tried to be good hosts and to justify the epithet of a city that welcomes all athletes and friends with joy. I hope we have fulfilled our mission and see you next year,” said the president of the Goražde Athletic Club, Zaim Suman.

The club expressed their special thanks to the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, BPK Goražde, the Goražde Health Center, the Red Cross, radio amateurs and numerous volunteers as well as sponsors who helped organize this sports event, which also included the Walk for Healing in which the members participated. Association of patients with breast cancer and other malignant diseases “Biser” Goražde.

Together with the Minister of Education, Youth, Science, Culture and Sports BPK Adisa Aliakdić Herić and the Mayor of Goražde Ernest Imamović, medals and cups were presented tonight to the most successful in the main race by BPK Prime Minister Edin Ćulov, while the cantonal government is the general sponsor of this event.

“I congratulate all the competitors, the Goražde Athletic Club and all the good people, the many guests who came. I hope that they feel comfortable and that they will take away good impressions. Let’s go even better and faster to the satisfaction of all of us” – said the Prime Minister of BPK Goražde, Edin Ćulov.

The third international friendship race Goražde 5K this year was organized as part of the pre-festival contents of the 26th International Friendship Festival, which will be held in Goražde from August 1 to 7.
