600 Million Euros to be allocated for the First Phase of the Highway Banja Luka-Mlinista?

highway Banja LukaMinister of Transport and Communications of RS, Nedjo Trninic, participated few days ago in Macau, China, in the work of a special conference on the theme “One belt, one road and the regional cooperation at the infrastructural projects“, at which he represented the project of  the construction of the highway Banja Luka-Mlinista.

Trninic said that the Government of RS, aware of the importance of the regional connection, committed to the realization of building the network of highways in that BH entity.

“The project of the construction of the highway Banja Luka-Mlinista, that will further go throuh the Federation of B&H and the Republic of Croatia to Split, is especially interesting for us. Negotiations with Chinese partners started even in 2013, based on their self-initiative proposal and their expressed interest in the construction of this road, that represents the continuation of the European Corridor E 661 Gradiska-Banja Luka, in the south direction“, said minister Trninic, adding that the estimated value of the first phase of the construction of this highways 600 million euros.

Based on the preliminary agreement, Chinese partners will in the future period access to the making of the study and project documentation, necessary for the start of final negotiations on the credit engagement with the “Exim bank“, while RS had an obligation to participate with 15% in co-financing of the project, and to provide a complete expropriation at the planned section of the highway.
