89 New Cases of Covid-19 recorded in Sarajevo

According to the Canton Sarajevo Public Health Institute, 89 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton last day, after 640 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 73 people recovered from the coronavirus infection.

Unfortunately, one patient died as a result of this disease.

Currently 115 patients are being treated

There are currently 115 patients in hospital, 109 of whom have an acute infection, while the rest are post-covid or under observation / triage.

The share of unvaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 80.00 percent.

61 patients are treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas ”54. There are seven people using respirator and 12 patients use noninvasive ventilation. Oxygen support is used by eight patients.

Today, Sarajevo Canton records 1,521 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 2,080 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 68,666 people infected with coronavirus have been registered, and 65,537 have been cured.

“In the past seven days, the average number of infected is 95, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 158,” according to the Institute of Public Health of Canton Sarajevo.
