Around a hundred of illegal migrants, who were staying in Bihac, were moved from that city to the migrant center near Sarajevo on Saturday, with the help of the police, as confirmed from the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs that is working with the Ministry of Security of BiH.
These 93 migrants lived in the area of Bihac in the open-air, and their relocation is the result of help to the Una-Sana County in solving the problem of accommodation for hundreds of migrants who are searching for temporary accommodation while trying to continue their journey towards Croatia and other EU countries.
All migrants who were evacuated from Bihac on Saturday will be accommodated in the center near the settlement of Delijas near Trnovo, about 30 kilometers away from Sarajevo.
Authorities provided accommodation in solid facilities for them, as well as healthcare and other necessary conditions for normal stay until their status in BiH is resolved.
From the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs announced the latest statistics on the arrival of migrants. According to data collected from police agencies in BiH, a total of 8,930 illegal migrants entered our country since the beginning of the year, and most of them expressed the intention to seek for asylum, although only few of them actually did it.
They need the certificate for asylum in order to move freely around BiH and to continue their journey to other countries.
