“We have 150 users and they come for their meal every day, except for the weekends. We intend to introduce dry meals that will be distributed on Saturdays. Our users are social cases, extended families in exceptionally difficult situation. No one has complained on our food or quality so far. Even more, we receive acknowledgments and recognitions for our activities,” Bajramović said.

“It is almost three years now since I have been coming to this kitchen. I am thankful to God and good people for the existence of something like this. I am a regular here, because what expects me here is a well prepared meal and polite staff,” said the kitchen user Jela Udovčić.

The problem of uninhabitable facility where the Merhamet public kitchen is situated is successfully solved. According to Bajramović, meat and bread for the users for the entire year have been provided. Distribution of food is just one of many activities that this collective successfully performs.

“The Islamic Community donated 1.600 kilograms of various goods intended for our users. Our activities are not solely related to the distribution of food. In cooperation with the Health Center Zavidovići we visit the residents, especially the elderly and feeble, we measure pressure and sugar. We also work on providing school accessories for children, as well as clothes, shoes… We fight as much as we can,” Bajramović said.

They have recently distributed a hundred packages for endangered workers of Krivaja and provided transportation tickets for two months for ten students from the remotest settlements.
