Sejfo Sehovic from Sarajevo won another gold medal for BiH.
Sehovic won the gold medal in deadlift and powerlifting in Las Vegas, and has become a champion in deadlift at the World Championships in Moscow in recent days, where he broke the world record in this discipline.
He lifted 230 kilograms in the deadlift and thus broke the previous world record which is by 15 kilograms higher than the previous one.
He won the cup for the absolute champion of the world for breaking the world record, for which he stated that he does not know how to bring it in Sarajevo from Moscow.
“The most important thing for me is that I opened the door to this sport in BiH and young people to get engaged in it,” said Sejfo, adding that he was happy that the flag of BiH was in Russia where Sehovic was the only BH competitor.
“It is my great honor and pride to represent BiH,” added Sehovic, who brought two gold medals from the two major world powers in BiH.
Sehovic enrolled in BH history with his successes and this is not his first medal. He says that he won medals thanks to training and with hard work. He trains three times a week which brought him great result.
Thanks to the success that the team of BiH achieved on the Balkan Championship in March, the World Cup in this discipline will be held in Sarajevo next year, as approved by the World Association.
