Bosnia and Herzegovina national team member Mesud Pezer won the senior competition at the 16th international memorial throwing meeting “Draževina 2024 – Nedeljko Burzamović Memorial”, which was held today in Draževina near Podgorica in Montenegro.
For Pezer, after a successful winter season and improvement of his personal and national indoor record to 21.42 meters, this was his first performance after a month and a half break and preparation for summer performances.
At the beginning of March, he performed at the Indoor World Championship, where he was ninth.
“Today I tested my form before the upcoming meetings that await me. I am satisfied with my today’s shot of 20.93 m. It was an honor and a pleasure for me to enlarge the memorial and break the meeting record, thus setting another record in my throwing career,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.
The previous, recognized record of this competition was 20.59 meters, but Hamza Alić won in 2008, at the first edition of this meeting, with a length of 21.07 meters. However, that result was not recognized as a personal record, because the meeting was not officially verified by the European and World Athletics Association at that time.
