A business Miracle that never stops growing: These are the Leaders of Tesanj Economy

Tesanj is known as a “business miracle” in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), i.e. a place with a large number of successful companies that achieve world-class results.

The business growth of this city continued in 2023.

Namely, the number of companies located in Tesanj with an annual income of more than one million BAM increased last year to 146. The year before, there were 138 such companies. So, six new companies joined this prestigious club in just one year.

In addition, many companies that have been in this club for a long time further improved their operations last year, such as Madi, AS, Mann+Hummel, etc.

Hifa-Oil retained its prestigious position as the largest company in Tesanj, even though its revenues dropped by about 60 million BAM last year. This was certainly expected because the revenues of this company depend heavily on the movement of oil prices, which were significantly lower last year than in 2022. Despite this, the company operated with a profit of about 15 million BAM, which will enable it to continue with the investment cycle in all spheres in which it operates.

It is practically impossible to count successful companies from Tesanj, and we should not forget those registered in other cities, whose owners are from Tesanj.

In general, the economy of Tesanj recorded further growth last year, which is good for the whole of BiH, because this is where one of the main engines of our development lies.

One of the problems faced by businessmen in Tesanj is the lack of labor force, which they are trying to overcome by bringing in workers from abroad – including those from distant countries such as Bangladesh – but also by expanding production to other, less developed cities.

Here is an overview of the 20 largest companies in Tesanj with the total revenues in 2023:
