The director of the Technical and Repair Institute Hadzici Meho Rekic said in an interview for FENA that the engineers of this institute are working hard and that by the New Year they should make a prototype of a “smart suit”.
After being made, says Rekic, the prototype of the suits will be presented to potential buyers, as well as to the general public.
“The smart suits are being built in two variants, one for the civil sector and one for the military. For the civil sector, in the case of mines, the miners will have certain sensors on their suits and if there is an accident, at any moment, they would know where people are, whether they are alive, what is their condition,” Rekic explained.
This product will first be placed on BiH market, and then foreign markets which also seek such a kind of technology, according to Rekic.
Rekic noted that “these days technical and repair institute Hadzici was visited by military attaches from embassies in BiH together with the Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH, Mr. Sead Jusic, where they were presented with the products made by us and a vision of development and plans for the future of this institute”.
“We are negotiating with customers from around the world at this moment. We have received about 10 inquiries for the sale of our products, so we expect a very quick response from one of them to come and sign a contract with us for one-year or multi-year purchase of our products” Rekic said.
The technical and repair institute from Hadzic, besides these smart suits, has made, among other things, the first BiH hand-held RPG and a parachute for illuminating mortar mines of 120, 80 and 60 millimeters.
