Thirteen-year-old Affan Kaknjo won the first place at the competition for the best photo organized by the Embassy of Italy in BiH on the topic “My BiH”. Kaknjo is amateur photographer, and he got his first experience at the school of photography that was realized in Zenica.
Kaknjo competed in the category of participants of the age from 13 to 18 years, and members of the jury liked his photo named “Underestimated Power” the most.
“Waterfall Kravice is one of the most valuable natural beauties of our homeland, and the photo was created after I saw a man in a boat, and I reacted right away and made the photo. I presented the nature of our environment and all the details that became way too usual to us. A man on the boat focused all of his attention to his mobile phone, and the usage of smart phones makes us neglect the things around us,” said Kaknjo.
He noted that he wanted to draw attention to the fact that people are not really paying attention and that technology is slowly underestimating the power of nature.
Kaknjo noted that he could not even imagine that he would win some kind of award, but that this is not surprising since he was thought by somebody who dedicated his studies to photography.
He is now a member of the CreativeShooting team from Zenica with which he exhibited his photos on the topic of cyberbullying in the Museum of the City of Zenica, the Historical Museum of BiH, and he will continue dealing with the photography in the future period.
