The state-economic delegation of BiH, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija is on an official visit to the UAE. He met yesterday with the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Minister of Foreign Trade Sheik Lubno Al Qasimi.
During the meeting, which was attended by representatives of BiH state companies, they spoke of the need to intensify cooperation between the two countries with the goal of finding the most suitable ways of investing in BiH and of possible concrete steps. In this regard, they agreed to that an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments in BiH and the UAE should be signed as soon as possible, as well as other bilateral agreements that would create an appropriate legal framework to improve economic cooperation.
Lagumdžija called on Deputy Prime Minister Sheick Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyana and Minister Lubna Al Qasimi to visit BiH in order to continue concrete talks.
The BiH Delegation visited the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and Mubadala Development Company, where they held successful meetings and discussed concrete projects in the area of infrastructure.
They agreed that representatives of Energoinvest, Elektroprivreda BiH and FBiH Highway would recommend projects that would be discussed at the next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Investment Fund. The BiH Delegation also visited the headquarters of the Energy Company Masdar.
Representatives of FBiH Highways, Energoinvest, Hidrogradnje, RS Chamber of Commerce and the FBiH Chamber of Commerce, BH Gasa, Elektroprivrede BiH and Union Bank also attended the meetings.
In the framework of the official visit, there was also a business forum where 100 businesspeople from BiH and the UAE attended.
The BiH Delegation consisted of representatives from more than 50 companies from BiH. Today they will participate in a business forum BiH-UAE in Abu Dhabi.
