Deputy Director of the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Fatić, said today in an address to delegate members of The Joint Committee on Economic Reforms and Development of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that the first results of the population census should be announced on June 15th .
He said that the population census is the most important issue of this agency and recalled that the process of data processing is being done in cooperation with the Entity Statistical Institutions, emphasizing that the scanning process, introduction, encoding and the control of data validation was completed in early February.
He explained that there is a raw database at the moment, but the first data from the census should be released until June, 15 as previously announced.
“It may happen that, due to the delay of defining certain rules, certain delay of first result publication or decrease of initial indicators that we planned to publish until June 15 may occur,” noted Fatić.
The Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in B&H was published in October 2013, which is why a deputy of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and a member of the Joint Committee, Sefer Demirović, raised the question about the date when the results of the census will be announced noting that year and a half have passed since the census was carried out.
As highlighted today at the sitting of the Committee, the new coordinator for the census issue on behalf of the Council of Ministers should be appointed, since Damir Hadžić stopped being the coordinator after the expiration of his mandate as the Minister of Transport and Communications.
