At the 46th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2015) for high school students, which was held in India from July 5th to July 12th, young physicists from B&H achieved the greatest success so far, since Bosnia has begun participating in this competition.
In the competition of 84 countries and over 380 students from around the world, the Bosnian team won one silver and one bronze medal, and two Compliments (Honorary medals).
The silver medal was won by Bahrudin Trbalić (International High School, Tuzla), while Nermedin Džeković (International High School, Sarajevo) won the bronze medal. This is the third silver and fifth bronze medal for Bosnia at the International Physics Olympiad.
Naida Dedić (Gymnasium “Visoko”, Visoko) and Ajdin Palavrić (First Gymnasium, Zenica) were awarded the honorary medals.
Participation of the team at the International Physics Olympiad was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, HIFA Oil Tešanj, AN Projekt Doboj Jug, Velfarm Gračanica, Ekoservis Tešanj, Master Fashion Travnik, Ganjgoline Doboj Jug, MBA Usora, Kamenorezac Doboj Jug and HIFA Petrol Sarajevo.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Tuzla Canton refused to finance the departure of young physicists.
