The first president of Republika Srpska, Hague convict Radovan Karadzic, could get provisional release to visit the grave of his younger brother Ivan and pay him tribute, as announced by his lawyer, Goran Petronijevic.
Petronijevic said for Russian television “Carigrad” that all the guarantees from the Serbian authorities have already been provided.
Republika Srpska also sent documents that guarantee the return of Karadzic to the Hague Tribunal, in case he comes, as reported by “Sputnik”.
The Hague Tribunal condemned Karadzic (70) to 40 years in prison on the 24th of March, and found him guilty of genocide in Srebrenica, persecution of Muslims and Croats, terrorizing civilians in Sarajevo with long-lasting shelling and taking members of UNPROFOR as hostages.
He asked for additional 90 days to appeal the verdict from the court in The Hague due to the “inadequate resources available to the defense team, which makes impossible to file a meaningful appeal until determined deadline.”
