With its surreal waterfalls and crystal-clear rivers, this is the ideal destination for a perfect summer getaway, enriched by a new initiative, “Una Valens”, which further elevates this hidden oasis. As a national pride of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), this park offers visitors a chance to connect with nature, enjoy untouched landscapes, and experience top-notch tourism products. Here, you’ll find everything you need for an unforgettable escape from everyday life – from adventurous activities and relaxing riverside moments to local flavors and innovative technology that enhances your stay in this natural haven.

Discover Una, the undiscovered secret of a great vacation

The “Una Valens” initiative, supported with 148.000 BAM through the EU4AGRI project of the European Union (EU), has accelerated rural tourism development by boosting tourism capacities. With the combined efforts of four local partners – Una National Park, two accommodation providers, and one agricultural producer – an integrated tourism product has been created.

“Without this support, market challenges might have been an insurmountable obstacle for small tourism providers, but through “Una Valens”, these partners are growing and building a new story together,” says Alen Zulic, Director of the Una National Park.

EU4AGRI provided support to Una National Park in renovating accommodations, purchasing furniture, insulating facilities, and acquiring modern honey-processing machines. Additionally, five mobile sales booths were purchased for small producers, three solar benches for charging electronic devices were installed, along with an investment in digital marketing to promote this comprehensive tourism product.

Visitors can now enjoy a unique experience that combines nature, adventure, and local products. Designed as more than just a visit to natural beauty, “Una Valens” offers the opportunity to stay in comfortable rural accommodations, taste locally produced food, and participate in various activities like rafting, cycling, hiking, and more.

The digital era of travel: Enjoy effortless vacation planning

With the new web portal, planning the perfect vacation in Una National Park is easier than ever before. The portal offers everything from bookings to creating personalized arrangements. This digital tool simplifies vacation organization and supports the sustainability of local tourism offerings.

As Mr. Zulic highlights, “Una Valens” is a perfect example of how, with the support of the EU, integrating modern technology with rural tourism can benefit both visitors and local communities.

A vacation for all generations: Authentic experience with a sustainable approach

Local agricultural producers have used their unique qualities to contribute to an experience that offers visitors a genuine sense of connection with the local community and environment. This offering introduces tourists to the world of local food and products, while accommodation providers offer a cozy stay, and the park itself provides adventurous activities in a natural setting.

“This model not only strengthens the economic situation of the local population but also lays the foundation for long-term sustainable tourism. In this way, “Una Valens” becomes more than just a tourism product – it becomes a symbol of authenticity, sustainability, and future rural development,” Una National Park representatives stated, warmly inviting all travel enthusiasts to this oasis of relaxation, EU Delegation in BiH writes.
