BiH Deputy Ministers of Defense Slaven Galić and Aleksandar Goganović today received the delegation of France, led by Deputy Director for Strategic Affairs in the Directorate for Security and Disarmament of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexandre Vulic and Head of the Department for NATO and Transatlantic Relations Thibaut Del Giudice.

They discussed the possibilities of improving bilateral military cooperation, the role of the European Union Forces (EUFOR) in BiH and the priorities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The guests from France pointed out that their country considers the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region very important and stressed that France is committed to BiH’s entry into Euro-Atlantic integration.

Galić and Goganović expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation so far and emphasized the importance of the continued participation of members of the French armed forces in EUFOR.

The priorities of the Armed Forces of BiH were to maintain the readiness of the Light Infantry Battalion Group of the Armed Forces of BiH, which has been declared for international operations, further equipping the Demining Unit of the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as improving the accommodation capacities and living and working conditions of the members of the Armed Forces of BiH.

BiH Deputy Minister of Defense for Policy and Plans Galić announced that in the coming days BiH can be expected to take some of the key steps that would speed up the path to full membership in the EU and emphasized that cooperation between BiH and France should be intensified in all fields.

Deputy Minister Goganović noted that France is a proven friend of all BiH citizens.

He emphasized that EUFOR considers the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina to be stable, which is important for the security of the entire region and Europe.

He also concluded that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are always committed to peace in complex international relations, and that the relations between France and Bosnia and Herzegovina should be close, the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
