The long-awaited direct flight between Sarajevo and Rome will be established on October 29 this year, when the low-cost airline Wizz Air will establish year-round flights from Sarajevo International Airport, with three weekly frequencies – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The establishment of this airline is the result of the joint cooperation of Sarajevo International Airport, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton and the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton, as part of the Program of Subsidies for the Development of Tourism and Air Traffic in the Sarajevo Canton, has already supported two routes of the airline company Wizz Air, on the route Sarajevo – London, which takes place twice a week, as well as the airline on the route Sarajevo – Abu Dhabi, which takes place five times a week.

The direct flight between Sarajevo and Rome will be the third established strategic destination from the Sarajevo International Airport operated by Wizz Air, which is an additional confirmation of the results and activities of the Airport Authority to ensure as many destinations as possible from the list of strategic routes from and to Sarajevo.

Tickets are available online from today via the Wizz Air website https://wizzair.com at a price starting at 19.99 euros, Sarajevo International Airport announced.
