A Family rescued from a Cave in Slovenia, they had been trapped since Saturday

Five people, who were trapped in Krizna jama since Saturday due to heavy rainfall, were successfully evacuated yesterdayafternoon. The water in the cave fell on Saturday night, and yesterday morning the rescue team made their way to Krizna gora, where they loaded the trapped people into a boat.

The third day of rescuing five people trapped in Krizna jama, which was flooded during Saturday’s excursion due to heavy rains, ended with good news. As Sandi Curk, commander of Civil Protection, confirmed, the evacuation was successful, and five people are currently being examined by medical personnel.

It should be recalled that on Sunday, as well as on Saturday, the rescue teams managed to reach five trapped people, it took a good eight hours to get to them and back from the cave. But the level in the cave was still too high to safely evacuate them.

A family of three with an adult child and two guides set off on Saturday at 8 a.m. for a commercial tour of the Krizna jama as part of the Krizna cave (jama) lovers’ association. Since they did not come out of the cave at the scheduled 3 p.m., the duty officer from the association went down into the cave and saw that the water had risen, so he launched an action at 5 p.m., N1 reports.
