A few Days after the pompous Resignations, the same People were elected as Directors of Electric Utility

Recently, there was breaking news that the entire Management Board of Elektroprivreda (EP) HZHB, headquartered in Mostar, has resigned.

Marinko Gilja was the general director, while the other members of the Management Board, i.e. executive directors, were Robert Lesko, Ante Tutis, Zoran Tabak, Ilija Bakalar, Ivica Prskalo, and Drago Bago.

The company said that the Management estimated that the staff needed to be rejuvenated and that new staff should come, and for these reasons, all the directors headed by the general manager resigned.

They denied that the Administration was to blame for a huge loss of 81 million BAM last year, and emphasized that it had nothing to do with resignations. They said that the bad result in 2022 was the result of an extremely unfavorable situation in the electricity market and bad hydrology.

A similar explanation was given a few days later by the HDZ leader Dragan Covic, that the staff needs to be rejuvenated.

On Thursday, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, gave approval to the Supervisory Board for the appointment of acting members of the Management Board of this company until the end of the competition procedure, for a maximum period of up to twelve months.

It is interesting that the new Management Board, albeit now as acting officers, is mostly the same personnel, with a few changes.

Drago Bago, who was the executive director, was appointed acting general director, while Robert Lesko, Anabela Brekalo, Drazen Zelenika, Ilija Bakalar, and Ivica Prskalo were appointed as acting executive directors.

The new directors are, therefore, only Anabela Brekalo and Drazen Zelenika, while all the others were already on the Management Board, and they will remain in their positions for up to a year, and maybe longer if they are re-elected. The difference is that Gilja was replaced as general director by Bago, who was one of the executive directors.

Namely, it is known that acting officials are much easier to manage, that is, they are under greater control of the Government because their mandate can be terminated at any time, Biznis Info reports.
