Yesterday, a protest was organized in Banja Luka at the location of the old bus station, which was joined by employees of the Banja Luka City Administration and numerous citizens.
The protest was organized due to the ruling of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) according to which the land where the Old Bus Station is located is owned by Autoprevoz.
The verdict was supposed to be carried out yesterday, but it was decided to postpone it due to a protest attended by the mayor of Banja Luka, Drasko Stanivukovic.
He told the citizens that, if someone asks them why they came to this location, they should answer that they are waiting for the bus. Later, he said that the protest was not announced to the Police Administration.
Stanivukovic added that he does not accept the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH because it annulled the earlier verdicts of the courts in the Republika Srpska (RS), according to which this land is owned by the city of Banja Luka.
However, he said that an agreement can be reached on this issue, but on the condition that they give up on Vidovdanska Street. He pointed out that he would not agree that the location where the “12 babies” monument and the Museum of Contemporary Art of the RS are located belong to Autoprevoz.
“Should they then sell it to some private individuals, Bosniaks, Muslims”, Stanivukovic asked, stressing that he cannot allow the city to remain without the historical features of the RS.
Drasko Stanivukovic posted a video of his speech on his Twitter account. However, the part where he mentions Muslims and Bosniaks was omitted, and it can be assumed that a cut was made on this part, and the statement ends with the fact that Autoprevoz can sell the land to someone who is not “theirs” and that this will no longer be “Serbian”.
“We are talking about this, forget Vidovdanska and the gallery, goodbye”, he said, Klix.ba reports.
