The American Lottery announced that a jackpot worth 1.13 billion dollars was drawn, for which a ticket was purchased in New Jersey.

The lottery announced on its website that the winning numbers were seven, 11, 22, 29 and 38, with a supplementary number of four.

The winner, who has yet to be identified, can choose to take a $537.5 million lump sum or spread payments over 30 years, subject to annual tax payments.

This ended a streak of 30 consecutive draws without a major win.

A $1.6 billion jackpot was drawn in Florida last year despite odds of one in 302.6 million. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

Twice-weekly drawings cost $2 each and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

This is the fifth largest prize in the history of the “Megamillions” game.

The largest single lottery prize in US history was $2.04 billion, won by a winner in California in November 2022, Srna news agency writes.
