On Bjelasnica, not far from the capital city of our country, a large number of wild horses roam freely.

If you’ve ever ventured to Lukomir, the highest inhabited village in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the only settlement above 1.300 meters, you’ve likely encountered a herd of horses along the way. The sights of Bjelasnica will leave no one indifferent, and the majestic landscape is sure to captivate you.

For many years, Lukomir has attracted numerous visitors with its unique appearance, and the wild horses that can be seen on the way to the village add to the appeal of this destination. The incredible landscape, along with the wild horses, also draws many adventurers and tourists eager to experience this natural phenomenon.

Bjelasnica is renowned for its rich flora and fauna. During your hikes, you can encounter various species of plants and animals, enriching your experience even further.

BiH is abundant with natural treasures, and herds of horses can be seen in several regions across the country. However, the most famous are those on Mount Cincar. Hundreds of horses roam the Kruzi plateau, a natural phenomenon of such magnitude that it cannot be found anywhere else on the European continent, Klix.ba writes.
