A joint training of the EUFOR aviation unit and KCUS medical teams was carried out yesterday at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), with the aim of strengthening the capacity for emergency medical transport and supporting the transplantation program.

“This activity represents an important step in the implementation of the project to strengthen transplantation, initiated by the General Director of KCUS, Alen Pilav,” KCUS announced.

After a several-year break, a special EUFOR helicopter landed at KCUS, symbolically marking the beginning of operational cooperation in the field of MEDEVAC (medical evacuation).

The exercise included day and night reconnaissance flights, simulation of emergency patient admission, and coordination of medical and technical teams.

“This cooperation is not only technical, but deeply strategic – aimed at saving the lives of the most seriously ill patients, including those awaiting transplantation. Speed, safety and professional coordination are key,” said Pilav.

It is stated that through such joint activities, EUFOR and KCUS build mutual trust, improving their skills and ensuring complete readiness to perform tasks in the most demanding conditions.
