A Request to issue an international Warrant for Sakib Mahmuljin

After the former commander of the Third Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sakib Mahmuljin, did not respond to the call of the Court of BiH to serve a prison sentence, the court yesterday initiated the request to issue a warrant.

Mahmuljin was sentenced to eight years in prison by the verdict of the Court of BiH because the court concluded that he did not prevent the murders and inhumane treatment of members of the “El-Mudzahidin” detachment in the area of Vozuca and Zavidovici.

In April, the Court of BiH issued a second-instance verdict, six years after the start of the court process and more than 25 years after the crimes committed against civilians of Serbian nationality and captured members of the Republika Srpska (RS)Army in the area of Zavidovici and Vozuca.

Mahmuljin was supposed to report to the court on November 23rd in order to be ordered to serve his prison sentence, but already in the period after the sentencing, information appeared in the public that he had left BiH and gone to Turkey.

As confirmed by the Court of BiH, an order was issued yesterday to issue an international warrant for Mahmuljin, Klix.ba reports.
