The Ministry of Environment of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has received a request from the company Vjetroelektrane Glamoc to carry out a preliminary environmental impact assessment for the planned Slovinj wind power plant with a capacity of 138 MW in the municipality of Glamoc.

Vjetroelektrane Glamoc plans to install 23 wind turbines with a capacity of 6 MW each, as stated in the recently published request. They are planned to be built in the mountainous area of Slovinj Hill, within the territory of the municipality of Glamoc.

In earlier information from the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, it was stated that the Slovinj wind power plant project began in 2009 with continuous monitoring of wind speed and direction. Measuring equipment was installed at an altitude of 1.430 meters, and measurement results from 2010 to 2019 showed that the average wind speed was 8.61 m/s over a ten-minute interval, while the maximum was 33.78 m/s. Based on these data, it was concluded that the Slovinj location is one of the more wind-rich sites in BiH and offers enormous resource potential.

The value of the construction of the wind power plant is estimated at 136 million euros, ekapija writes.
