Davud Muhović and Omer Hadžić, the only representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the competition in Mexico, each won a bronze medal.
At the 2026 Karate 1 Youth League Guadalajara tournament, held from September 17 to 20 in Guadalajara, Mexico, karate players from Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved notable success. Davud Muhović won third place in the cadet category -52 kg, and Omer Hadžić won bronze in the cadet category -63 kg. Both of them perform for the karate club “Champion” and were the only competitors from BiH in this competition.
In the category up to 52 kilograms, Davud Muhović passed the first round without a fight, and in the second round he defeated the local representative of Mari Albert Shinji Perez Kasuga with a score of 3:1.
In the third round, the Costa Rican Moises Gonzalez (3:1) was better than him — the only competitor who beat him in this tournament and who eventually won the gold medal.
Muhović then came back through the rematch, in which he was convincingly better than the Mexican Denilson Ronald Sanchez Acosta with a score of 3:0. In the fight for third place, he defeated Renata Emzeev, a competitor who competed under the WKF banner, and thus confirmed the bronze medal.
Omer Hadžić had an almost perfect tournament in the category up to 63 kilograms. In the first round, he defeated the Canadian Timothy Jiloca 7:1, then the Mexican Franco William Donald Beldessi convincingly 10:1, and then the Mexican Ian Gamez Antuna 4:1.
He was stopped only by Pablo Zermeno Razo, a Mexican competitor who later won gold in the final with an 8:0 victory. After that, Hadžić qualified for third place through a rematch, in which he defeated Juan Camilo Villalobos Hincapie from Costa Rica by a score of 5:3 and won the bronze medal.
