A strong storm hit Sarajevo today, where traffic is difficult due to heavy rainfall, and many streets are under water.

The rain also caused a traffic collapse on Ilidža, where a large crowd formed around the roundabout.

In the town of Kramari, municipality of Trnovo, near Sarajevo, as a result of the big storm that hit Bosnia and Herzegovina, the wind brought down several roofs. A lot of material damage was caused.

The Sava River Water Area Agency has issued an urgent warning to legal and natural persons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to prepare for potential flash floods expected in the period from September 23 to 25, 2023.

In view of the forecasted extraordinary hydrological situation, the Civil Protection of Sarajevo Canton appeals to all legal and physical entities to immediately take preventive measures to protect life, property and cultural assets, according to the statement of the Civil Protection of Sarajevo Canton.

A special appeal is addressed to the municipal civil protection services in Sarajevo Canton to continuously monitor the most threatened areas and put their organized protection and rescue forces on alert.
