The Federal Market, Tourism and Hospitality Inspection and the Federal Sanitary Inspection at the place of customs clearance (MC) Rajlovac – Sarajevo yesterday prohibited the importation of a consignment of food products due to non-fulfillment of the prescribed quality and health conditions of food for import.
These are products – onion rings (country of origin Netherlands), pastry (country of origin Sweden), brownie cookie (country of origin Italy) and tortilla (country of origin Spain) with a total weight of 913.80 kg delivered from Austria.
“Namely, in the process of controlling the quality of products and the healthiness of foodstuffs and items of general use during importation, the Federal Market, Tourism and Hospitality Inspection and the Federal Sanitary Inspection found that the transport temperature regime (-20°C) was not respected. The temperature in the chamber was is +20°C, as a result of which there was thawing and a change in the organoleptic properties of the shipment, which is why the shipment is unusable and cannot be imported, i.e. put into circulation,” stated FUZIP.
Consequently, and in accordance with the Law on the Quality Control of Certain Products during Import and Export and the Law on the Healthiness of Foodstuffs and Items of General Use, the import of the controlled shipment with a total weight of 913.80 kg was prohibited, and it was ordered to be returned to the sender, i.e. destroyed at the prescribed way in case the return is not possible.
