BiH Deputy Minister of Foreign Affarirs Ana Trišić-Babić said that the most significant activity of the Ministry in 2013 will be to prepare the public, institutions of BiH and the Ministry itself for Croatian accession to the EU which will be the biggest news for BiH in the second half of 2013.

She noted that many in BiH are still not aware of Croatian accession to the EU, which is the largest neighbour of BiH, bordering BiH with 1001 kilometres.

”Relations with Croatia were intensified in 2012, which is our neighbour and soon-to-be EU country. We in BiH must constantly be aware that Croatia from the next year will be the country of the EU and not just our neighbour”, said Trišić-Babić in an interview to SRNA.

” Since the creation of the new BiH Council of Ministers and the change of the leader of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the situation in the ministry is much better and some things, which were unthinkable are solved now”, said Trišić-Babić and added that the Ministry because of those changes will function more efficiently in 2013, especially because the budget of Bih has been adopted and the ministry is ready for its limitations.

She noted: ” Activities in 2013 will go in the direction of respecting the already reached agreements and reaching new agreements from the Road map, which is essential if BiH wants to submit a credible application, and the Ministry will be the first to monitor that process.”

Trišić-Babić added that the relations with neighbours and region are improving each year.

” Having in mind the change of power in Serbia in 2012, the relations of BiH and Serbia continued its course with more concrete issues ahead of us” , noted Trišić-Babić.

In 2013, BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue the activities related to the process of political integration of BiH in NATO.
