Education Centre for Democracy and Human Rights ‘Civitas’ BIH, with the support of the USA Embassy in BiH, is organising an academy for improving the capacity of experts in the field of education for democracy and human rights, reports FENA.
The Academy starts today 1 p.m. and lasts until 26 March, and it will be held in hotel ‘Hollywood’ in Ilidža.
One of the guests who’ll also give a lecture is a renowned American professor Thomas Vontz.
Teachers from BiH, experts and pupils will attend the academy, and after the training, teachers will use the knowledge to transmit it in their own schools by organising trainings for more than 600 teachers from 30 primary and secondary schools.
Young leaders of BiH will also participate at the academy in order to improve the quality of education for democracy and human rights on all levels.
During the 5 days of the academy, 30 young people from BiH will be trained in order to become leaders of democracy who can start with positive changes in their communities, and to inspire and attract their peers to actively become a part of the decision making process.
When the training finishes, 30 young leaders will develop 30 action plans in their local communities, said Civitas.
