By adopting the Excise Law in BiH, how much will the Fuel Price increase?

The proposed Amendment to the Excise Law in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was adopted at the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and Klix.ba makes an explanation of what implies the adoption of the mentioned law.

The price of toll will be 0.15 BAM per liter of liquid petroleum gas according to the adopted Excise Law on BiH, which will amount to 0.18 BAM per liter with VAT. This means that citizens who fill up the tank, which receives 50 liters of fuel, will pay 9 BAM more than before.

Representative in the BiH Parliament – Momcilo Novakovic explained to Klix.ba that the law would increase the price of excise tax on fuel oil, which basically means that citizens who use heating fuel oil will pay more for heating.

“When it comes to fuel prices, diesel and super: tolls are rising. The increase of tolls for 15 fening is practically a fuel price increase of 18 fening, given VAT. This will produce a chain reaction to other products, since this is more than ten percent of current prices, “ says Novakovic for Klix.ba.

He emphasized that a 10 percent rise in oil prices has to have an impact on the price of other products.

“If we consider that oil prices in the world market are rising, then according to some estimates, we can expect oil prices to jump to 2.5 BAM. You can only imagine what will happen with the price increases of heating, bread, basic groceries, transport and so on, “ Novakovic said.

He explained that these tolls are paid through fuel prices and that this has nothing to do with the payment of tolls on highways or vehicle registration, as speculated in the public space.
“This law only applies to fuel price increase and they will immediately rise, as soon as the law is published in the Official Gazette, “ claims Novakovic.
