State of Alert Declared in Zenica Again Due to Air Pollution

zagadjenje-zenicaMeasuring stations in the locations of Tetovo, Center and Radokovo marked again an excess in the amount of sulfur dioxide in the air and therefore a state of alert has been declared in Zenica.

According to the assessment of Federal Hydro- Meteorological institute, there will be no weather changes in the next three days. Therefore, no decrease of SO2 is expected in the air. On this basis, the municipality of Zenica, declared the state of alert, referring to the operational contingency plan for action in cases of excessive air pollution.

The Municipality recommends that elderly, chronically ill people and children to reduce their stay outdoors, and for drivers it is forbidden to drive vehicles that do not have a catalytic convert. Businesses are ordered to suspend production temporarily, if is technologically possible.
