During the weekend, the air quality in Bosnia and Herzegovina was significantly better than the previous two weeks. The change in the weather with wind and precipitation caused mild to moderately polluted air at the measuring points in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During Saturday, there were almost no exceeding of the prescribed limit values. The exception was hydrogen sulfide concentrations in Visoko and Maglaj, but they were also far lower than those that can negatively affect human health.
According to the Air Quality Department at the FBiH Hydrometeorological Institute, a gradual increase in the concentration of pollutants (floating particles and sulfur dioxide) in the air is expected in the coming days, with pronounced daily oscillations in the state of air quality.
They also warn that, as time progresses, any stabilization of the atmosphere in the coming autumn and winter period will guarantee a faster deterioration of air quality.
