The arrival of Pope Francis to Sarajevo will also affect other cities in B&H, and among them is Mostar.

Namely, the Airport of Mostar will record an increase of flights and charter flights in these days, and thus the number of passengers who want to come to Sarajevo on 6th June.
“An increase of the number of passengers is actual, especially related to the last year, when we recorded an increase of nearly 20% when it comes to May, Of course, a little more traffic is expected before the arrival of Pope Francis“, said the representative of the International Airport Mostar, Marko Djuzel.

He commented that the job of the Mostar Airport is primarily for religious tourism, i.e. the transport of passengers who want to come to Medjugorje.

“Whole our job is based on the tourism directed towards Medjugorje except Goteborg, which was launched this year. Most of flights is related to Italy –Naples, Bari and Rome, and we have charter flights all over the country. From this year, we also have flights from Beirut, so we record an increase of 10% compared to the beginning of June of 014“, concluded Djuzel.
