Airstrikes on Iranian Military Facilities completed, Iran ready to retaliate

The Israeli military has announced that it has ended targeted airstrikes on Iranian military facilities.

The Israeli military said the airstrikes targeted missile production facilities believed to have produced the rockets launched at Israel.

The strikes were in response to Tehran’s recent rocket attacks on Israel, AA writes.

The Israeli military also targeted surface-to-air missile systems and other Iranian air assets, which were aimed at disrupting Israel’s operational capabilities in Iranian airspace, the statement emphasized.

“The operation was successfully carried out, and all planes returned safely to the base,” it added.

The Israeli military is said to possess a range of offensive capabilities, some of which were used in Saturday’s attacks that targeted strategic assets deep inside Iran.

“I can now confirm that we have concluded Israel’s response to Iran’s attacks on Israel. We have carried out targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran, thereby thwarting imminent threats to the State of Israel. The Israel Defense Forces have fulfilled their mission,” said a spokesman for the Israeli army. Daniel Hagari in a video statement.

He added that “if the regime in Iran makes a mistake by starting a new round of escalation, we will be obliged to respond”.

Iran ready to retaliate

Iran said it was ready to retaliate against what it said was Israeli aggression.

“There is no doubt that Israel will receive an appropriate response to any action it takes,” the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported, citing sources close to the government.

In Tehran, it was announced that the army successfully repelled the attacks with air defense systems, which caused “limited damage”.

Israel “attacked military targets in the province of Tehran and the provinces of Khuzestan and Ilam”, the Iranian army announced, reports the French news agency AFP.

After a brief suspension due to Israeli strikes, flights in Iran resumed at 9 a.m. local time, authorities confirmed.
