160325044.1_xxlAjša Selimovic is an Austrian model whose family is from BiH, and last year she got to the final show of Germany’s Next Topmodel (GNTM). She got a lot of attention with her unusual and exotic appearance. In an interview with Klix.ba Ajša speaks about her experience and the fashion industry in Germany.

Ajša is 19 years old and was born in Austria, but lives currently in Germany because of an Au-Pair program she participated in a few years ago. The nanny job was replaced by the catwalk and modeling.

“Before GNTM I’ve never worked as a model, but I wanted to be one since my childhood. However, through this competition I gained a lot of experience and understand that the world is cruel and rude. It is not all that great as we’d like to think,” said Ajša.

In this contest, which lasts for several months, the girls have to show that they are ready for the world of models, that they’re creative, innovative and have what it takes to be a model. Many users of social networks were rooting for Ajša, who ended up being third. GNTM opened many doors, she got hired by designers such as Amata with who she’ll work with in Dubai and Wolfgang Joop in Paris.

“I worked at the Berlin Fashion Week for various designers, I was doing a photo shoot for several magazines, and since May I’m in another agency and want to start an international career”, said Selimovic.

Although GNTM is very popular and might be a great opportunity, Ajša says that not everything is as great as it looks on screen.

“If anyone has the potential to be a model they shouldn’t start their career on GNTM, without this competition it’s more likely for them to succeed in the fashion world,” said the beauty.

During the competition she got a lot of compliments about her figure and big eyes which gave her an exotic look. She says she has always been thin, but tries to eat healthy and exercise regularly.

Although she was born in Austria and lives in Germany, Ajša knows Bosnian.

“I used to visit BiH every year and spend an average of two weeks. But for the last two years I didn’t have the time to go there. My plan is to go this year together with my boyfriend” said Ajša.

Ajša is 1.75 cm tall and has a tattoo of Hello Kitty that she did for her 18th birthday. In her first presentation for GNTM she said that she likes to travel, go to concerts and hang out with friends. As a child she wanted to be a fashion designer, but today she dreams of big fashion shows of famous designers.
