Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama arrived today on a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After the meeting with the chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers, Borjana Kristo, it was said that Rama’s visit will improve the relationship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
“Relations and regional cooperation should continue to be strengthened. As well as bilateral cooperation. This cooperation should be through the intensification of talks both at the institutional level and through political dialogue,” she said.
“We explained the complexity of relations in BiH and how the Council of Ministers works on everything that is the focus and interest of BiH. With great satisfaction with today’s conversation, we expressed our readiness to intensify the conversation for the benefit of these two countries and all others in the region”, she added.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama thanked for the warm reception in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I praised the chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers for banning the importation of tobacco into BiH institutions,” Rama said at the beginning of his address to the media.
We want to strengthen the relations between the two countries and we are working to open an embassy of Albania in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Rama.
“A part of Albanians live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and there are also Bosniaks living in Albania who have their own rights,” he emphasized.
It’s no secret that we protect the interests of Kosovo and with this Berlin process we want to make it easier for them to move around with just an ID card, Rama pointed out.
“I hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina will sign such an agreement following the example of Serbia”.
Rama said that he came to inform about the Berlin summit that will be held in Tirana.
“How are we going to take common ground, six countries, on all the issues that concern us, and to raise issues in the Berlin process that concern us all.”
We are glad that the representatives of the EU recognized this and that they will support us in common goals on the way to European integration.
At the airport in Sarajevo, Rama was met by Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of Albania was held in the building of institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
