Albin Kurti arrives in Sarajevo amid Fierce Criticism from the Entity of Republika Srpska

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti arrived in Sarajevo in the afternoon. He left Sarajevo International Airport under police escort for the city center.

Kurti arrived at the invitation of the Association of Independent Intellectuals Circle 99, where he is scheduled to attend an expanded session of Circle 99 in the City Hall tomorrow.

The very announcement of Kurti’s arrival in BiH has provoked fierce reactions from politicians from the BiH entity of Republika Srpska, led by Milorad Dodik.

He stated that things in BiH will become significantly more complicated if Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti comes to Sarajevo and reiterated that the Serbian factor in BiH has not and will not allow the recognition of Kosovo’s independence.

“BiH has not recognized Kosovo. We will not allow Albanians from that area to enter with an ID card because that would mean a certain recognition of the so-called Kosovo. In that regard, we have news that Kurti is arriving in Sarajevo. And when we intervened and said that it would be a trigger for serious problems between us in BiH, then they came up with the idea of having some non-governmental organization invite him to a session. So, they are persistent in bringing him to Sarajevo and provoking him, and then telling us that Serbia is doing something wrong, even though it respects the territorial integrity of BiH,” said Dodik.

He stressed that Serbia respects the territorial integrity of BiH, but believes that “Sarajevo does not respect the integrity of Serbia.”
“How do they think they are moving forward with double standards and building a system in BiH if, among other things, they are holding a session of a non-existent body (PIC) in the parliament, even though there is no agreement or anything about it? And then they talk about the sovereignty of BiH. So, they are constantly lying and this double life they are living is completely unbearable. They will find a way to drag Kurti in privately if nothing else. But, things in BiH will become significantly more complicated after his arrival in Sarajevo,” said Dodik, who attended the “Zurich Speech” forum in Switzerland as a guest, at which the main speaker was Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Staša Košarac stated that ministers from Republika Srpska will not attend today’s session of the Council of Ministers due to the arrival of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Sarajevo.

In the whole context, politics should not be ignored, as officials from the RS entity are boycotting Kurti’s arrival at the invitation of an NGO, not one of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to Klix.ba.
