Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced on his Instagram profile that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing the hope that Serbia will not impose sanctions on the Russian Federation.

As he stated, they did not talk for two and a half years, and the topic was bilateral relations.

He also said that they had a good, open, long and meaningful conversation.

He says that he especially thanked Putin for making sure that Serbia has sufficient quantities of gas this winter, at very favorable prices.

“I expressed the hope that we will not impose sanctions on the Russian Federation,” said Vučić.

“I thanked President Putin for the congratulations and pointed out the unwavering spirit of freedom of the Serbian people and thanked the units of the Red Army that, together with the Serbian units, participated in the liberation of our capital,” added the President of Serbia.

He also pointed out that they talked about important political issues, but that he would talk about that later.
