The General Director of the Sarajevo University Clinical Center(KCUS), Sebija Izetbegovic, should be replaced at the head of this health institution by Alen Pilav, a doctor of medical sciences and a specialist in thoracic surgery.
Pilav says that it is too early to talk about who will be the acting director considering that the Board of Directors of KCUS has not yet made a decision on the dismissal of the current directorgeneral, but that he understands that the public is interested in this topic.
In an interview, Pilav reveals that he has in principle accepted the offer to be acting director in the transition period.
“After the circumstances changed in the sense that the current director general officially no longer meets the requirements to perform that function, it was expected that she would be replaced. The president of the temporary Board of Directors of KCUS and respected specialist urologist, prof. Dr. Benjamin Kulovac contacted me and we discussed the idea of me being the acting director of KCUS. Knowing that KCUS must have someone at the head during the transition period until the competition procedure for the selection and appointment of a new director general is completed, I accepted the possibility in principle to be a candidate for acting director,” Pilav noted.
“However, the final word will be given by the KCUS Board of Directors, because only it can decide on the dismissal of the current management, as well as on the appointment of a new one. The decision on the dismissal of the current director and the appointment of the acting director rests with the KCUS Board of Directors,” points out Pilav.
To recall, the Board of Directors of KCUS meets on Monday, and one of the items on the agenda is the proposal to dismiss the current acting director Sebija Izetbegovic, Klix.ba reports.
