All patients in the intensive care unit of Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza died as a result of the blockade imposed by Israeli forces, said hospital director Muhammad Abu Silmiya.
“All the patients who were in the intensive care unit died. All but one. This happened because of the Israeli blockade that has been going on for seven days. Since the introduction of the blockade in the hospital, more than 54 patients have already died. I am afraid that those who are currently in a critical condition”, said Silmiya.
He emphasized that the displaced persons are also in a desperate humanitarian situation.
“The hospital turned into a cemetery, a prison and an Israeli barracks at the same time. The Israeli army shoots at everything that moves on the hospital’s property,” added Silmiya.
Al Hadat TV previously reported that the Israeli army is not allowing anyone to leave the hospital complex, although it claims there are no militants inside.
The report said the Israelis arrest anyone who tries to leave the hospital, and the Red Cross and other international organizations are not allowed to enter the health facility, Klix.ba reports.
