The Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sarah Eti Castellani, and Colonel Fabio Seragusa, Attache of the Italian Financial Police for BiH, met yesterday with the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Darko Culum.

“The meeting provided an opportunity to deepen the excellent cooperation between SIPA and the Italian authorities, with the common goal of combating organized and transnational crime. This cooperation is part of Italy’s support to the central institutions of BiH and the European path of this Balkan country, through a wide range of activities that include training, exchange of knowledge and information, and operational activities in the field,” stated the Embassy of Italy in BiH.

The meeting followed the recent visit of Director Culum and other members of the Working Group for Monitoring the European Union (EU) Visa Liberalization Regime for BiH Citizens to Rome.

The visit, which included several meetings with representatives of the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs, provided an opportunity to gain deeper insight into Italy’s experience in preparing for the implementation of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) and the Entry/Exit System (EES), key elements of the new EU activities for managing external borders.
