Roundtable on the topic of opportunities and challenges with which the Swedish-BH companies in BiH are facing was held in Sarajevo, and its main goal was collecting the experience of companies from these two countries that are operating in BiH.
The Ambassador of Sweden to BiH Anders Hagelberg officially opened this event, and he noted that the Embassy organized it in cooperation with the APU Network Association, which is consisted of about 700 professionals of BH origin.
“There are between 80,000 and 100,000 people from BiH who are living in Sweden, and around 55,000 of them came during the war in BiH. When compared to other diasporas in Sweden, they are very successful and well-integrated into society, which is especially reflected in the employment rate, which is almost at the same level as the one of born Swedes,” stated Ambassador Hagelberg.
He noted that the best way to attract investment is the improvement of the business environment, which represents a great political challenge, but much can be learned from investors from the Diaspora as well as those from other countries.
It was envisaged for this roundtable to be the first stage in the process that will include other interested parties in the future period as well, i.e. the authorities of BiH as well as relevant institutions.
