Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Li Fan received the women’s national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and wished them luck for their journey and performances in friendly matches against the Chinese national team on June 13 and 15.

The best female basketball players of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by team manager and one of the best European basketball players of all time, Razija Mujanović, are traveling to the cities of Linyi and Jinan in the Chinese province of Shandong at the invitation of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Ambassador Li emphasized that she was honored to be able to talk to the representatives of the national team, which, with its fighting spirit and spirit, is a role model for many young girls in Bosnia and Herzegovina, assessing that the Dragons are “true ambassadors of sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Li also reminded that the Chinese women’s national basketball team has a rich tradition and inexhaustible spirit, as well as that they are regular participants in the Olympic Games and other international competitions where they show the world the Chinese style of basketball.

“I believe that this match between the Chinese and Bosnian women’s basketball players will not only be a top-notch sporting duel, but also a great demonstration of women’s endurance, speed and strength,” said Li.

Ambassador Li also recalled that China successfully organized the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, emphasizing that the Olympic spirit is deeply rooted in Chinese society, and that basketball enjoys exceptional popularity.

Speaking about the province where the host cities of the two national teams’ matches are located, Ambassador Li emphasized that Shandong is the birthplace of Confucius and Mencius, one of the most important centers of Chinese civilization, rich in cultural heritage and beautiful natural beauties.
“I hope that, in addition to the court, you will have the opportunity to explore the charms of Shandong, absorb Chinese culture and feel the warmth of the local way of life. This will not only be a sports trip, but also a wonderful experience of cultural fusion and spiritual encounter,” Li emphasized.

Finally, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to BiH emphasized that this year marks 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and that sports ties write a beautiful story about it.

“A match may only last 40 minutes, but friendship has no final siren. I hope that you will spread unity and friendship with your basketball, and through the competition, build trust and mutual admiration – thus giving new momentum to the ties between our two countries,” emphasized Li.

Thanking the reception, Razija Mujanović spoke about future plans for cooperation with the Chinese Basketball Association.

“I hope that we will be able to return the hospitality and host the Chinese national team in Sarajevo in the coming period,” said Mujanović.

During the reception, national team member Tea Perić, on behalf of the entire team, presented Ambassador Li with a basketball jersey signed by all the Dragons.

The BiH women’s basketball players travel to China tomorrow and return seven days later. The matches against the Chinese basketball team, the current world vice-champions, will be played on June 13th and 15th, Klix.ba writes.
